Britain Threatens to Recognize Palestine as a State If Israel Continues Its Actions

The United Kingdom will recognize the State of Palestine before the UN General Assembly in September if Israel continues to obstruct humanitarian aid to Gaza and carries out military operations in the enclave, stated Prime Minister Keir Starmer's office.

“We are firmly committed to defending the viability of a two-state solution and, therefore, will recognize the State of Palestine before the UN General Assembly in September if the Israeli government does not take significant steps to end the dire situation in Gaza and commit to achieving long-term, sustainable peace, including allowing the UN to immediately resume humanitarian aid to end the famine in Gaza, agreeing to a ceasefire, and clarifying that there will be no annexation of any part of the West Bank,” the statement read.
