Arrested Priest Hrayer Hakhobyan to Be Released, Bail Conditions Changed
Arrested priest Hrayer Hakhobyan will be released, as the Armenian Court of Appeals has changed his bail conditions. His attorney, Hovsep Sargsyan, informed Sputnik Armenia about this decision.
"The bail conditions have been changed to include a prohibition from leaving the country and administrative supervision," he stated.
Sargsyan added that the court's decision is currently being processed by the correctional facility to implement it.
Recall that Hrayer Hakhobyan was arrested on June 26 as part of the 'coup attempt case.' Following his arrest, the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, published a recorded conversation on his Facebook page, in which Hrayer allegedly asked, "What do I gain if I kill Nikol?" and further speculated about eliminating Nikol, Ararat, and Alen in one location, questioning if anyone would be left from the power to take over afterward. Hrayer Hakhobyan told his lawyer that the dialogue attributed to him was taken out of context.
