Three Days of Mourning in Khabarovsk Region Following An-24 Plane Crash

A three-day mourning period has been declared in the Khabarovsk region of Russia in connection with the crash of an An-24 aircraft. This was announced by the governor of the Khabarovsk region, Dmitry Dymeshin.

As a sign of mourning, flags will be lowered throughout the region. “Tomorrow, at my direction, the region's Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure, Konstantin Kravtsov, will travel to the Tyndinsky district to make decisions on-site. A helicopter has also been sent along with the Khabarovsk rescue team,” stated Dymeshin.

“We will provide all necessary assistance and cover the travel expenses for the relatives of those who died in the aviation accident, who wish to go to the scene of the tragedy,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that passengers filmed a video that speaks volumes. The An-24 appeared to be extremely old. Vapor was observed near the baggage compartment. However, it was believed that the aircraft was capable of flying.
