Kennedy Center Opera House to be Renamed in Honor of Melania Trump

Republicans in the U.S. Congress are proposing to rename part of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington in honor of First Lady Melania Trump. This was reported by U.S. Congressman Mike Simpson on the X social media platform.

"Renaming the Kennedy Center opera house after Melania Trump is a wonderful way to recognize the First Lady's love for the arts," wrote Simpson.

It should be noted that the opera house named after John F. Kennedy is part of the famous Kennedy Center in Washington, which opened in 1971 in memory of the 35th president of the United States. The theater has the capacity to host about 2,200 spectators.

Additionally, in February 2025, former U.S. President Donald Trump appointed himself as chairman of the Kennedy Center board.
