Putin Wants to Accelerate Ukrainian Settlement, Says Peskov
Moscow is ready to move quickly on the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, but the speed of this process does not solely depend on it. This statement was made by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, during an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
He pointed out that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has repeatedly expressed his desire to transition the Ukrainian settlement as swiftly as possible to a peaceful track. However, according to Peskov, this process requires time and effort.
“Most likely, Washington is increasingly understanding this,” noted the Kremlin representative, commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent statements regarding Russia.
The press secretary added that achieving the goals of the special military operation remains paramount for Moscow. Nevertheless, the Russian leadership is prepared to move quickly on the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
