New Details Emerged from the Pashinyan-Pezeshkian Phone Conversation
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran has never sought war and the absence of security, and has always played a crucial and effective role in establishing peace and stability in the region. He made this announcement during a phone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as reported by Mehr.
"Based on its principled policies, Iran has always supported any action that leads to the strengthening of peace and security. According to Pezeshkian, Iran has never aspired to war or the absence of security throughout its history and has always played a vital role in establishing peace and stability in the region. However, while we were talking and agreeing, the Zionist regime attacked us, against all international standards and laws, and then America, in complete coordination with that regime, bombed our legitimate nuclear facilities," said the Iranian president.
He also criticized the double standards of certain countries regarding the provocation of war, mass killings, and the aggression of the Zionist regime. "What is happening today to the oppressed and defenseless population of Gaza—starting with the killing of women and children and genocide to the restrictions on access to water, food, and medicine—is incompatible with any international legal, humanitarian, or ethical standards," he stated.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian characterized the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia as historical, friendly, and constructive. "Our policy is constructive cooperation with all neighboring countries in the shadow of preserving the territorial integrity of all countries, and we attach special importance to strengthening cooperation and relations between the two countries," he noted.
Nikol Pashinyan, for his part, emphasized his interest in expanding relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. "We eagerly await Your Excellency’s visit to Armenia so that we can meet and discuss in detail the ways to improve cooperation and interaction between the two countries," he said.
