Germany and the USA to Expedite Discussions on Arms Supply to Ukraine

Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz has announced that European partners and the USA will expedite discussions on the details of supplying weapons to Ukraine, following remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding military assistance to Kyiv. He made this statement on the social media platform X.

“President Trump has initiated an important proposal today to supply Ukraine with a large volume of weapons, provided that European partners finance it. We have discussed this with President Trump multiple times in recent days,” Merz added. He noted that the parties will now clarify the details in an expedited manner. Germany is pursuing this based on its own interests.
