Russian State Assets Will Remain Frozen, Merz
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has stated that Russian state assets will remain frozen. “I would like to reiterate that Russian assets will remain frozen. The utilization of the income or profits from these assets is carried out through the mechanisms we have described. If necessary, the assets can also be used in relation to the corresponding agreements,” he said.
The Chancellor noted that the damage caused to Ukraine as a result of Russia's large-scale invasion amounts to approximately 500 billion euros.
