Proposals Regarding Ukraine Previously Unvoiced, Says Rubio After Meeting with Lavrov
The United States will continue to cooperate with all parties to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, despite the 'lack of progress' in peace negotiations. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio following a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“The United States heard proposals regarding Ukraine that had not been voiced before during a meeting with Russian officials on Thursday. The U.S. is disappointed with the lack of progress on the Ukraine issue,” said Rubio.
The United States is interested in a clear plan to halt the conflict in Ukraine, and proposals on this matter will be presented to Trump. Rubio mentioned that he discussed “certain ideas” with Lavrov about what a 'roadmap' for ending the conflict in Ukraine might look like.
