Anonymous Person Establishes Contact with Foreign Ministers Using AI to Mimic US Secretary of State's Voice

An anonymous individual, using artificial intelligence to replicate the voice of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, has reached out to at least five high-ranking officials, including three foreign ministers, a governor from one of the US states, and a member of Congress. This was reported by CNN.

The mentioned individuals attempted to gather information or gain access to accounts. The perpetrator opened an account on the messaging service 'Signal' in mid-June using the handle [email protected]. They have sent both voice and text messages.

The FBI is investigating a similar impersonation involving Suzy Wiles, chief of staff to US President Donald Trump.
