What Did Trump Promise to Zelensky?

US President Donald Trump has had phone conversations with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron, according to American CNN. Trump discussed the possibility of Germany purchasing Patriot missile systems from the US to transfer to Ukraine.

The conversations took place after Trump’s morning call to Vladimir Zelensky. According to Axios, the American leader promised to check the status of suspended arms deliveries and to help strengthen Ukraine's air defense.

As reported by Der Spiegel, Trump did not commit to sending weapons to Kyiv during his conversation with Merz. Meanwhile, the official spokesperson for the German cabinet, Stefan Cornelius, stated that the chancellor has “strongly defended supporting Ukraine in the field of air defense” in recent phone calls.

For his part, Zelensky mentioned that Trump agreed to organize a meeting between representatives of Kyiv and Washington to discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defense, as well as to address Ukraine’s military industry and share his views on the current “diplomatic situation.”
