They Could Not Be Unaware at HEC and Have Decided to 'Stand Next to the Church': Pashinyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated on Telegram: 'As you can see from the photo, I issued this directive on May 20, 2025. They were aware of this directive; they could not have been unaware at HEC, and they decided to 'stand next to the church.'
Dear colleagues, I was just at the History Museum of Armenia, and the electricity went out. Please do not consider my words an exaggeration; there has not been a single visit in recent times where the power has not either gone out completely or flickered during the visit. Schools, kindergartens, cultural centers, hotels, and restaurants—I have seen it with my own eyes.
This is an energy crisis. I do not need explanations; I need sanctions specifically against HEC. The damage done to the people must be compensated. Tell me how. Please do not diffuse the topic. If you do, we will move towards nationalizing HEC—completely and decisively. Financial compensation mechanisms must be implemented. Mr. Khudatyan, please provide specific proposals. The deadline is one month.'
