The Ministry of Internal Affairs Makes a Decision for Citizens Affected by Cyber Crimes

In order to address the issue of citizens affected by cyber crimes, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has conducted intensive discussions with the office of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, the Investigative Committee, and the Central Bank. The discussions focus on those citizens whose names have been fraudulently used to obtain loans.

Due to this decision, the obligations of these citizens to banks will be frozen pending the completion of criminal proceedings, and no interest on the loans will be calculated. Additionally, all interest accrued on these loans prior to the application of this decision will be annulled, and any overdue payments will be corrected, ensuring that these citizens do not end up on a 'blacklist.'

It is also important to note a decreasing trend in reported cases of this crime: 85 cases were recorded in March 2025, 52 in April, and 22 since May until now. This positive trend is attributed to the effective preventive work carried out jointly by law enforcement agencies and financial institutions, centered around informative activities.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is collaborating with all relevant agencies to prevent such thefts and to raise public awareness regarding legal rights. Citizens are urged not to provide personal data or passwords to anyone, refrain from clicking on unknown links, and avoid trusting dubious calls and social media pages. In cases of suspicious calls, emails, or ads claiming to be from banks, please contact the respective bank immediately.
