Earthquake in Iran-Turkey Border Region Felt in Yerevan

On June 30, at 12:53 PM local time (08:53 AM GMT), an earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was registered by the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The earthquake occurred at geographical coordinates of 39.54° North latitude and 44.52° East longitude, 28 km north of the city of Maku in the Iran-Turkey border area, with a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the underground tremors in the epicentral zone reached 5 points. The earthquake was felt in the Ararat Province with a magnitude of 4, in the villages of Yelpin and Chiva in Vayots Dzor Province with a magnitude of 3, and also in Yerevan city with an intensity of 2-3 points.
