Mass Raids in Russia, Arrests Including Azerbaijanis

Massive raids and arrests of Azerbaijanis have begun in the Voronezh region of Russia. This was reported by Novye Izvestia.

According to the media, Alexeyevsky Market (the "Chernozemye" small wholesale base) in Voronezh has long been under the surveillance of security forces. Raids are conducted here several times a year to detect violations in the migration sector. Local residents regularly complain about the behavior of newcomers and unsanitary conditions.

Local media reported that a group of migrants blocked a truck carrying goods from a Russian driver. They demanded that the vehicle be left for several days for trade purposes. The "market owners" threatened, including with "sharp and cutting objects," promising to burn the truck while emphasizing that they would not face consequences for it.

According to the source, the truck was blocked by individuals who had arrived from Azerbaijan. To rescue the driver, the forces of the "Russian community" and an enhanced police unit were required.

The situation has been placed under personal control by Andrei Kikots, head of the migration service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, who was appointed to this position on April 2. On June 25, large-scale raids began at Alexeyevsky Market with the involvement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Rosgvardiya, as part of the operational-preventive operation "Illegal-2025." The media service of the Main Directorate of Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia clarified that three operations have been conducted.

During the raids, over 450 people were checked. 42 foreigners were held administratively responsible for violating migration legislation, and notifications were issued to 17 individuals for military registration obligations.

During the current phase of the "Illegal-2025" operation, preventive measures will continue at the specified market due to the detection of multiple gross violations of migration legislation until the complete elimination of the causes and conditions contributing to violations of the law," the Main Directorate of Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
