Ukrainian 'Mirotvorets' Accuses Sarik Andreasian

Director Sarik Andreasian has found himself on the Ukrainian 'Mirotvorets' website database, allegedly for violating Ukraine's national border and engaging in illegal activities in Crimea, as reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the site, Andreasian participated in a “media provocation against Ukraine by Russia.” Additionally, the director is accused of knowingly breaching Ukraine's borders and conducting illegal activities in Crimea. Andreasian is known for directing the film 'Earthquake,' which depicts the Spitak earthquake, as well as the series 'Chikatilo,' 'Onegin,' and other films.

The website is infamous for its scandalous publications, which include the personal data of journalists, as well as citizens of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, labeling them as “traitors of the homeland.” In the spring of 2016, it published lists of journalists, including foreigners, who were accredited by the authorities of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, detailing their contact information, after which some received threats.

At that time, Dunja Mijatović, the OSCE representative on media freedom, described the publication as “a disturbing step that could further endanger journalists' safety.” The actions of the owners of the 'Mirotvorets' website have also been criticized by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, who characterized the publications as a direct call for retribution against journalists.

The 'Mirotvorets' database also includes information on several Russian cultural figures and citizens of various countries.
