US Halts Trade Negotiations with Canada

US President Donald Trump has announced that the United States is immediately halting all trade negotiations with Canada related to the country's implementation of a digital services tax that affects American tech companies. The White House leader wrote about this on his Truth Social platform.

“We just learned that Canada, which has already been very difficult to trade with, including imposing tariffs on our dairy products for years up to 400%, is imposing a digital services tax on our tech companies. This is a direct and blatant attack on our country,” Trump wrote.

According to him, Canada is mirroring the actions of the European Union, which is also discussing the possibility of imposing a similar tax on the United States.

“Based on this, we are immediately halting all trade discussions with Canada. We will inform Canada of the tariffs it must pay to engage in transactions with the United States within the next seven days,” Trump emphasized.
