Bagrat Srbazani's Letter Published

Bagrat Srbazani's letter from the 'Yerevan-Center' Penitentiary at the NSS building. 'Glory to You, God, glory to You, for everything, glory to You.'

We are living through difficult, suffering, shameful, and disgrace-filled days and times, yet with interesting developments—the days of labor, when finally liberation will be born, and the power of evil will be rolled away.

Being in a complete information blockade, I receive fragmented information about what is happening both in the general field and against the supporters of the 'Holy Struggle'—persecution and terror. I am only saddened that the parents of our martyr heroes are subject to this persecution and terror—especially Ara Rostomyan, who is currently imprisoned. This is an insult—disgrace.

I hope we will someday be able to emerge from under this heavy curse. I do not want to prolong this; I simply want to say that this path is my conscious decision—not to spare anything for the liberation of the Homeland, and 'God forbid, I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.' (Galatians 6:14)

Yes, it is clear who has entered the struggle for the truth—against lies and deceit; they will have no rest, neither physically nor mentally, and 'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.' (Matthew 5:6)

My conscious decision is to be ready to endure dishonor, lies, slander, insults, imprisonment, deprivation, but not to live dishonorably, stateless, incompatible with myself, bowed down by fear and terror, denying myself and my identity.

Glory to God for all these persecutions. As long as our life is like this, our dwelling place will be a prison—as long as our State is not liberated, my life cannot be free. I have committed to this path, bearing all responsibility. I only ask you not to be afraid of the enemy, who has seized the Armenian State and 'let no one deceive you with empty words, for although I am far in body, I am with you in spirit.' (Colossians 2:5)

I will only say that what has been presented in the press—and what press it is— is entirely lies and fabrications, tailored to their purposes. The rest will come in the future.

As I was writing these lines, I received news that evil has attacked the Mother See and wished to arrest Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan. I express my solidarity with my holy brother—hardworking and devoted, noble clergyman. The attack on the Mother See is only fitting for a murderous and soul-destroying regime—the power of evil. This is the end of everything and especially the end of evil.

Victory has no alternative...

P.S. I once again appeal to the law enforcement: Children, today’s assault on your Holy See is similar to the invasion of bandits, although bandits have not attacked the See. I appeal to you—do not enter under a curse, do not serve evil; your children will ask questions, and you will not be able to justify yourselves. I have always said—that this evil makes you accomplices, guilty, and blood-stained. Do not enter and take the curse of God.
