I Was Awakened When Everything Was Over: Israeli President
Israeli President Isaac Herzog told the BBC that the U.S. decision to strike Iran's nuclear facilities was historic and courageous.
In response to a reporter's question about whether Iran's nuclear capability has been completely destroyed, Herzog said he had no details but stated, "It is quite clear that Iran's nuclear program has suffered serious damage."
When asked whether Israel directly requested the U.S. to conduct the strikes, Herzog replied, "We decided to leave that to the Americans' discretion." He also emphasized that he was not personally aware of the impending operation. "I was awakened when it happened and was over," he said.
To the question of whether Israel would now cease its attacks on Iran, Herzog did not provide a direct answer, only stating that Iran continues to bombard Israeli territory, and "we must do everything necessary to defend against the missiles."
