We Are Currently in That Process: Arthur Hovhannisyan

“Samvel Karapetyan threatened, and legal actions were initiated against him,” said Arthur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the ruling Civil Contract faction, in a press briefing with journalists at the National Assembly today. This statement was in response to the views surrounding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remarks about “Facebook justice,” where it was implied that Pashinyan threatened on Facebook, prompting the pursuit against Samvel Karapetyan.

What Samvel Karapetyan stated has no connection with the political apparatus, Hovhannisyan insisted during the press briefing. “When a person with vital interests from another country comes and makes a statement in this political situation, using terms like ‘group’ and various other expressions, saying that if political figures cannot act and the political apparatus does not work, we will try to solve issues in our own ways. What Samvel Karapetyan said has absolutely no connection with the political apparatus,” said Hovhannisyan, adding that Karapetyan has threatened the state, which, according to him, should receive both a political and legal assessment.

“And yes, as the Prime Minister rightly said, ‘the state’s taste should remain in their mouths.’ And now we are currently in that process,” stated the secretary of the Civil Contract faction.
