Zakharova Reveals What Russia Expects from the US
Moscow expects Washington to make new proposals to continue dialogue on problematic issues in Russian-American relations. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in an interview with RIA Novosti at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
She noted that there is a mechanism for consultations on what she called "disruptive irritants" between the two countries. According to her, two rounds of negotiations have already taken place, and a third was planned; however, the United States announced that it could not participate in the discussions at the previously agreed time. Now, as Zakharova mentioned, communications continue, and Moscow is waiting for the American side to determine new dates for the meeting.
The diplomat also reminded that cooperation continues through other channels, including through embassies and telephone conversations between the heads of state and foreign policy departments.
