Tehran's Residents, Including Local Armenians, Are Not Safe
Tehran's residents, including Armenians living there, are currently not safe. It has already been announced that the city must be evacuated. This was stated by a woman who recently traveled from Tehran to Armenia with her family in an interview with a NEWS.am correspondent near the Armenian border checkpoint.
"First and foremost, bakeries and shops have closed, and people are facing issues with food supplies. The situation is very difficult for many people. A lot of them do not have the opportunity to come to Armenia; some have disabled family members, and others simply lack the financial means to come and stay here. We need to pray for them together," she said.
There is no longer internet connectivity in Tehran, and those remaining there have no way to reach out to their relatives or learn any news about them.
"I hope that everyone will be able to come and be safe here, especially the young people. We want assistance for those Armenian youths who are there as soldiers and cannot come," the interviewee added.
