Congress Will Not Allow Trump to Intervene in War

US President Donald Trump has held an emergency consultation at the White House with military commanders and national security advisors.

According to The New York Times, the discussion focused on potential US participation in strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities, including the Fordow facility, in light of rising tensions between Israel and Iran.

Enhanced security measures are particularly affecting bases located in the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. In total, more than 40,000 American troops are stationed in the Middle East.

US lawmakers have informed Trump that only Congress has the authority to declare war on Iran, and that Congress will not allow Trump to intervene in the Iranian conflict at this time.
