Iran's President Declares Tehran Does Not Seek Nuclear Weapons
Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated during a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron that Tehran is not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. The remarks of the Iranian leader were quoted by his press service.
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran, based on the fatwa of the Supreme Leader, has never intended and does not aim to possess nuclear weapons and has always been ready to reach understanding and agreement through dialogue. He noted that instead of accepting Iran’s arguments, global powers have adopted Israel's stance, which seeks to sow chaos in the Middle East.
The President added that Iran will not sit at the negotiating table while the country is under attack from Israel and will not make decisions under any pressure.
