Fate of Latvian Former MP Accused of Assisting Russia Revealed

The former Latvian MP, accused of assisting Russia, has been released on bail. Alexey Roslikov announced this on his Telegram channel. He stated that his and his parents' homes were searched.

Roslikov commented on the charges against him, noting that there are no signs of cooperation with Russia, and that authorities deemed his last speech in the Saeima to incite ethnic hatred.

It is worth recalling that the Latvian State Security Service arrested the former member of parliament on suspicion of aiding Russia. A criminal case was opened against him last Monday on suspicions of assisting Russia in operations against Latvia and inciting national enmity and hatred.

On June 5, during a parliamentary session discussing the declaration on the 'Elimination of the Consequences of Russification', Roslikov delivered an emotional speech in a loud voice, stating in Russian: 'We are more, and Russian is our language.' Following that, he made an obscene gesture, after which he was removed from the session and expelled from the hall.
