Putin Holds Phone Conversations with Pezeshkian and Netanyahu

Russian President Vladimir Putin has held telephone conversations with Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the State of Israel.

During these discussions, the Russian President expressed condolences to the leadership and people of Iran regarding the many casualties, including civilians, resulting from Israeli strikes.

Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia condemns Israeli actions that violate the UN Charter and international law. The Russian side fully supports efforts to resolve the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program through peaceful means and has proposed specific initiatives aimed at finding mutually acceptable agreements.

Russia will continue to promote de-escalation between Iran and Israel. In his conversation with the Israeli Prime Minister, the Russian President highlighted the importance of returning to the negotiation process and resolving all issues related to Iran's nuclear program exclusively through political and diplomatic means. He also expressed willingness to provide mediation services to prevent further escalation of tensions.

Agreement was reached for the Russian side to maintain close communications with both the Iranian and Israeli leaderships, aimed at resolving the current crisis, which poses extremely catastrophic consequences for the entire region.

Recall that on the morning of June 13, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) initiated a large-scale operation against Iran, targeting locations in Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Ilam. The Natanz nuclear facility was also attacked.
