Why the Extraordinary Session on the Elections of Vagarshapat City Council Did Not Take Place

The extraordinary session regarding the elections of the Vagarshapat community council did not take place as the "Civil Contract" faction was absent.

Earlier, members of the ruling faction had stated that they would obstruct the election of the community leader, allowing the Prime Minister to appoint an interim leader in the near future. There is already a candidate: the current governor of Armavir, Argishti Mekhakyan.

The "Civil Contract" has made a decision to proceed with extraordinary elections that will coincide with the unification of communities, and there is a necessary procedure for this: the community leader must not be elected twice in a row,” said David Khudatyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, to reporters.
