Escalation Threat Continues to Exist: Ararat Mirzoyan
As long as there is no peace treaty, the threat of escalation continues to exist, stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, in the National Assembly.
“As long as we have not reached a final agreement on peace, as long as we have not shaken hands conclusively, the danger of escalation remains,” he said.
According to the minister, escalation can occur “from a lie”—a technical one, where a spark can ignite a fire, or it can also be a plan.
Mirzoyan could not explain why Azerbaijan periodically fires in the direction of Syunik.
“I cannot say, but Armenia’s position is clear—we aim to establish a unified joint investigative mechanism, where it can be determined whether soldiers are following orders or if they have acted independently, either individually or as a group,” the Foreign Minister noted.
