A New Type of Fraud Circulating Online: Ministry of Internal Affairs Warns

A new type of fraud is circulating online, where scammers use artificial intelligence to alter a person's voice and solicit money from their friends. The primary targets are Telegram and Facebook networks. This was reported by the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Scammers can send voice messages as well as make video calls with not only changed voices but also altered appearances through artificial intelligence. Dear citizens, when even a very close person asks for money through such messages in the online domain, immediately verify it, contact them, and ensure that it is indeed them. If you have believed in a suspicious call and transferred money, immediately call 1-02,” the police urged.
