Abducted Child Found: Close Relative Among Arrested
On June 3, at 12:33 PM, a man calling the Police operational management center reported a child abduction. Masked individuals approached a foreign citizen residing in Yerevan on Komitas Avenue and kidnapped his daughter.
Criminal police officers from the Yerevan administration and Community Police officers from the Arabkir division immediately responded to the scene. After a thorough discussion with the caller, a hypothesis was raised, which was confirmed shortly thereafter.
According to this hypothesis, the girl was abducted by her biological mother along with her current husband and two other individuals. Moreover, the mother is also a foreign citizen residing in Yerevan, and there was suspicion that the abductors might attempt to cross the state border with the child.
On the same day, at 5:10 PM, Community Police officers from the Noyemberyan division arrested the child's mother, her current husband, and another foreign national at the Bagratashen border crossing. The abducted girl was with them.
All individuals were taken to the Criminal Police department in Yerevan. The documents prepared were submitted to the investigative division of the Arabkir administrative district. The circumstances are being clarified through the preliminary investigation.
