With the seasonal increase in ice cream sales, the State Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia has initiated inspections at ice cream production facilities. This was reported by the State Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia.

Samples have been taken for laboratory examination from companies such as “Tamara,” “Grand Candy,” “Tamara and Ani,” “Yerevan-Milk,” “Martin Star,” “Artsvit,” “Nairi Land,” “Pink Berry,” “Marnik,” “Igith,” and “Ashtarak Milk,” as well as from the workshops owned by individual entrepreneurs Vanuhi Movsisyan, Azat Ghazanchyan, and Eduard Karapetyan.

Currently, results from the inspection of samples taken from seven organizations are known.

No violations were recorded in the samples of “Tamara” LLC’s products, including the “Vanilla Briquette,” “USSR Vanilla Eskimo,” “20 Kopeck Vanilla” made with milk fat substitute, and “Plombir Vanilla” and “Plombir Caramel” ice creams (brand: “Tamara”).

Samples from “Artsvit” LLC’s production, including “Vanilla Fantasy,” “Squirrel Vanilla,” “Vanilla Briquette,” and “Chocolate Briquette” made with milk fat substitute, did not comply with established norms regarding the mass part of milk fat and microbiological safety indicators (Enterobacteriaceae group microorganisms), and the last three samples also violated the standards for mesophilic aerobic facultative anaerobic microorganisms (brand: “Shant”).

Samples of “Nairi Land” LLC’s production, including “Eskimo Bevar,” “Briquette,” “Star Cone Vanilla,” “Star Cone Peanut Vanilla,” “Plombirka,” “Eskimo Chocolate Glaze,” “Eskimo Vanilla Glaze,” and “Bevar Cone” made with milk fat substitute, did not meet the standards regarding the mass part of milk fat. Furthermore, the “Eskimo Bevar,” “Briquette,” “Star Cone Peanut Vanilla,” and “Eskimo Vanilla Glaze” samples also showed violations in the microbiological standards for Enterobacteriaceae group microorganisms, while “Star Cone Vanilla” did not comply with mesophilic aerobic facultative anaerobes (brand: “Nairi Land”).

Samples from “Tamara and Ani” LLC’s production, including “Vanilla Anita,” “Chocolate Waffle Cup,” “Chocolate Eskimo,” and “Biscuit Vanilla” made with milk fat substitute, did not meet the mass part of milk fat standards (brand: “Ani”).

Samples of “Marnik” LLC’s “Vanilla Plombir” and “Chocolate Plombir” ice creams did not comply with microbiological standards for Enterobacteriaceae (brand: “FiNi”).

Samples from “Ashtarak Milk” LLC’s production including “Bourbon Vanilla,” “Choco Chocolate,” “Strawberry Flavor,” and “Berry” made with milk fat substitute did not meet the established standards concerning the mass part of milk fat (brand: “Ashtarak Milk”).

Samples of soft ice creams made with chocolate and vanilla milk fat substitute produced at the workshop of individual entrepreneur Eduard Karapetyan did not comply with the standards for mass part of milk fat, microbiological factors for Enterobacteriaceae, and mesophilic aerobic facultative anaerobes.

Testing of ice creams from other brands is still underway, and the results will be published later.

Production activities of the six companies with violations have been suspended, and a deadline has been set to rectify the identified issues. Withdrawal and destruction or disposal orders will be issued for these products.
