Ukraine Joins NATO Aviation System
Ukraine is joining NATO's aviation system. This was announced by Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization, Kateryna Chornorotenko.
Ukraine has signed a licensing agreement for the use of NATO's software, the Control and Alert Center System Interface (CRC System Interface, CSI). This step will allow Ukraine's Air Force to operate within a unified digital system alongside the aviation of NATO member countries.
The CSI is part of a combat management system operating via the Link-16 protocol, known as NATO's 'military Wi-Fi.' This protocol facilitates the exchange of information between aircraft (specifically the F-16 and Mirage 2000), air defense and missile defense systems (Patriot), and other defensive components.
The agreement has been realized through the joint efforts of the country's Ministry of Defense, General Staff, Air Force, and international partners.
