Georgian President on Armenian and Azerbaijani Resources
Peace, the maintenance of order, and stability are fundamental for our state; they are the foundation for the country's development, economic progress, and social well-being. I am very pleased with the meetings I have had with the leaders of neighboring countries.
South Caucasus has the potential to become an oasis in the region, stated Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili during an interview with Georgian Public Television’s program "Urgent Topic with Maka Tsintsadze." According to Mikheil Saakashvili, it became clear what an opportunity there is to prioritize peace in the South Caucasus.
"It was an ideal picture when we talked to each other. My first visit was to Azerbaijan, followed by Armenia. Armenia is also gradually realizing the resources that South Caucasus possesses. Today's congratulations from the United States also emphasize this. It has also become obvious to them what opportunities exist for establishing peace in South Caucasus as a priority. Of course, the interests of all major powers will emerge. South Caucasus has the opportunity to become a regional oasis. Not a subject of conflicts, nor a performer of any major country's orders, but on the contrary, we should gradually move towards meetings, investments, and the resolution of relations. That resource exists," noted Mikheil Saakashvili.
