Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has appointed a group of ten legal experts and authorized them to begin work on a new Constitution. “Over the course of 23 years, we have repeatedly demonstrated our sincere intentions to strengthen our democracy with a new Constitution that embraces civil liberties,” he stated.

It is worth noting that Hussein Yayman, vice chairman of the ruling Justice and Development Party, mentioned during a meeting with party activists in Mugla that despite discussions about the president not wishing to run again, the party intends to nominate him as a candidate in the next elections.
