Prosecution Withdraws Lawsuit Against Vahagn Vermishyan

Lawyer Alexander Kochubaev stated: “The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has withdrawn the lawsuit filed against Vahagn Vermishyan concerning the ‘confiscation of property of illegal origin.’ This is a serious legal precedent and demonstrates that the defendant was able to convincingly present the factual and legal grounds of the case, which cast doubt on the validity of the claim.

Today, it has been confirmed that the submitted lawsuit lacked sufficient evidentiary support and was part of an illegal judicial pursuit. Vahagn Vermishyan not only did not retreat but achieved the restoration of justice through legal means, as a result of clean legal struggle, proper strategic planning, and systematic effort. Legally, not based on assumptions.

It should be noted that the Anti-Corruption Court had accepted the application filed by the Property Confiscation Department concerning assets of illegal origin on June 1, 2023, which requested the confiscation of four real estate properties in Yerevan and Lori province from Vahagn Vermishyan and related individuals, or in case of impossibility, their average market value, which is over 303 million 150 thousand drams, as well as 46 million 70 thousand drams, which cannot be substantiated by the person’s legal income, has illegal origin, is transferred to a bona fide acquirer, or cannot be identified and recovered.
