My Chances Were the Highest, But I'm Not That Kind of Guy: Aghazaryan
I am aware of the statement from the "Honorary" party, but if the "Armenia" alliance supports and successfully completes the legislative process, we could have the following picture: Edmon Marukyan would become Prime Minister for one year, and on the 26th there would be early parliamentary elections. This was stated by MP Hovik Aghazaryan in a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly.
"In other words, partially, the reality of our opposition partners' four years of torment and dreams would be realized. The Prime Minister would leave power, a different Prime Minister would be appointed for a year; they wanted to appoint Vazgen Manukyan, Bagrat Galstyan, and other options. And now that one-year opportunity was being offered," he said.
When asked why another candidate was not put forward, considering the opinion of the opposition, he stated that they had seven candidates during preliminary discussions, one of whom is my humble self, another is one of our younger members from the administration, and the remaining five are well-known political and economic figures, but I will not name them.
"My chances were the highest, but I am not that kind of guy, I am a different kind of guy, which is why I did not put forward my candidacy. There is also the possibility of changing the candidate; we could come up with another initiative tomorrow—what is the discussion about?" Aghazaryan stated.
