It's Not Easy to Deal with Him: Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire, but it needs time to assess Kyiv's efforts to achieve that goal. This was stated during an event honoring law enforcement at the Oval Office, as reported by The New York Times.

"I said the Ukrainians are ready for a ceasefire. They are ready for peace negotiations," he emphasized.

In response to a reporter's question about whether Ukraine is taking sufficient steps to reach that end, Trump stated he needs time to draw conclusions. "It's better if I tell you in about two weeks, because I can't say yes or no. I think Zelensky is a strong guy. It's not easy to deal with him, but I believe he wants to stop. I hope the answer is that he wants to solve this issue," Trump added.
