Russian-American Dialogue Will Reduce Tensions: CSTO Secretary General

The dialogue between Russia and the United States generates cautious optimism; the fact of interaction between the parties is important, and the effect of Russian-American dialogue will have the most direct impact on global processes. This was stated by the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, as reported by TASS.

“Undoubtedly, the effect of Russian-American dialogue will have the most direct impact on global processes, helping to reduce tensions in various regions of Eurasia, including the area of responsibility of the CSTO,” said the CSTO Secretary General.

He noted that there is progress on the “Iranian case” in light of the indirect negotiations between the US and Iran in Oman.

It is worth adding that the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council meeting is set to take place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, which is leading the organization in 2025. The meeting is chaired by Vyacheslav Volodin, the Speaker of the State Duma of Russia, who also heads the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
