Over 20,000 Violations of Traffic Rules Discovered
From May 12 to 19, during a service conducted in the capital, Yerevan police identified 5,297 violations of traffic rules, and 269 vehicles were impounded. In particular, there were 156 drivers operating vehicles under the influence, 340 without a driver's license, and 1 person driving with a fake driver's license. Other violations included 33 related to license plates, 860 for not using seat belts, 13 for not using child safety seats, 426 for smoking while driving, 310 for using phones while driving, 75 for pedestrians crossing at non-designated areas, and 2,069 other violations. Furthermore, 152 vehicles were operating without compulsory insurance, 466 without technical inspection, 71 with faulty headlights, and 105 with tinted windshields and side windows. Additionally, 91 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to community police departments.
During the same period, police in the regions identified 15,427 violations of traffic rules, with 259 vehicles impounded. Among these, 214 drivers were caught operating vehicles under the influence, 588 without a driver's license, and 1 with a fake registration certificate. Violations also included 74 related to license plates, 3,570 for not using seat belts, 219 for not having child safety seats, 489 for smoking while driving, 579 for using phones while driving, 56 for pedestrians crossing at non-designated areas, 2,220 for speeding, and 4,740 other violations. 493 vehicles were operating without compulsory insurance, 1,668 without technical inspection, 344 with faulty headlights, including 15 trucks, and 179 with tinted windshields and side windows. Additionally, 36 individuals were arrested under various suspicions and taken to community police territorial departments.
