New Law for Foreign Nationals Entering Russia
Foreign nationals entering Russia will be required to obtain a special QR code through the "Госуслуги RuID" mobile application prior to arrival. This was announced by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow.
The regulation specifically pertains to citizens entering without a visa. The QR code must be obtained at least 72 hours in advance, and in emergency cases, at least 4 hours prior. It will need to be presented when crossing the border.
During the registration process, individuals are required to upload personal information, a photograph, and specify the intended duration of stay in Russia.
The new requirement does not apply to the following groups: children under 6 years old, individuals with a visa, temporary residence permit, or permanent residence permit, and citizens of Belarus.
For children aged 6-18, their parents or legal guardians can submit the application, provided they themselves have entry permission.
These changes are being implemented as part of a decision by the Russian government adopted in November 2024, as a trial for new entry and exit regulations.
