Peace Is Possible Only Under These Conditions, Says Ukrainian Defense Minister

Peace is possible only if Russia demonstrates a willingness to take concrete actions, stated Rustem Umerov, the Ukrainian Defense Minister, who is leading the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul.

Following a meeting with representatives from the U.S. and Turkey, the minister emphasized the need for at least a 30-day ceasefire and the implementation of humanitarian measures. These measures include the return of forcibly displaced Ukrainian children and the exchange of prisoners of war on a 'everyone for everyone' basis.

The minister added that Ukraine is ready for a complete ceasefire and direct negotiations at the highest level.
