Checkpoints to Be Installed in Schools, Preventive Measures to Be Implemented: Ministry of Education
The issue of drug use and circulation among schoolchildren is a significant concern, and it is planned to install checkpoints in high schools with more than 700 students. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Araksia Svajyan, during a press conference discussing the toolset for implementing preventive measures in schools.
“We have regular meetings with our colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where we discuss several tools that can help implement preventive measures in schools,” she said.
It is noteworthy that residents of the village of Mkhchyan reported a horrifying incident that occurred days ago at the Kristapor Alaverdyan School. Several boys from higher grades allegedly tied up two fourth-grade students in the school restroom and forced them to take drugs. Following this, the children exhibited signs of addiction and started stealing money from home to buy drugs from the same older students.
