Pope Francis Calls on Conflict Parties Not to Divide into 'Good and Bad'

Pope Leo XIV of Rome has pledged to "make every effort to ensure that peace prevails in the world." He reaffirmed the Vatican's readiness to do everything possible to "bring enemies face to face so they can talk to one another, and for people everywhere to find hope and restore the dignity of peace."

The Pope urged for dialogue and not to categorize conflict parties as "good and bad." Speaking with representatives of Eastern Churches at the Vatican, the pontiff stated that he is ready to support a "meeting of enemies."

“Let us pray for a world that reconciles, forgives, enables turning the page, and starting anew. I will make every effort to ensure such a world exists. The Holy See is ready to help enemies meet and look into each other's eyes, so that hope and the dignity of peace can be restored to the people. Nations want peace, and I sincerely call on leaders: let us meet, talk, and negotiate,” the pontiff said.
