Donald Trump's Advisor Whitcoff: Armenia and Azerbaijan Could Join Peace Agreements

Stiff Whitcoff, Senior Advisor and Assistant to President Donald Trump, stated in an interview with Breitbart News that the White House expects a potential expansion of the Abraham Accords in the coming months, and that both Armenia and Azerbaijan could join these agreements.

The Abraham Accords were initiated during Trump’s first term and aim to have several Arab nations officially normalize relations with Israel for the first time in decades. So far, the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco have joined the agreements.

However, progress on these accords has hit a dead end following Trump’s departure from the White House, as Democrat Joe Biden took over, and no new Arab nations have joined since then. Whitcoff indicated that potential partners could include Libya, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

“My forecast is that fairly soon we will see the potential for normalization regarding Lebanon and even Syria. There have been strong positive responses from them. The same could happen with Libya. Joining the Abraham Accords could take place with Azerbaijan and Armenia. We believe that we are very, very close to resolving the conflict in those countries, to a final resolution. I think both could be ready to join those peace agreements. Thus, this is a significant initiative by the president. He believes in it. It contributes to peace and stability in the region overall. We have a very good team. I am truly confident that in the coming months, we will have four or five, maybe six countries that will sign the Abraham Accords, and that will send a strong signal to the world about President Trump’s foreign policy initiatives aimed at promoting peace and stability worldwide,” he concluded.
