Population in Armenia Increases
As of January 1, 2025, the permanent population of Armenia has reached 3 million 76 thousand 200 people, according to the Armenian Statistical Committee reported to Radar Armenia.
Compared to the same period last year, the permanent population has grown by 2.8%, or by 85 thousand. The population was 2 million 991 thousand 200 as of January 1, 2024.
The urban population makes up 1 million 971.2 thousand, while the rural population stands at 1 million 105 thousand. The capital city, Yerevan, is home to 1 million 141 thousand residents.
Following Yerevan in terms of population is the Kotayk Province with 293.3 thousand residents, while Ararat and Armavir Provinces rank third with 267.9 thousand and 267.6 thousand respectively.
In Yerevan, the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district has the highest population, totaling 150 thousand residents, followed by Nor-Nork with 136.9 thousand residents.
