This Issue Must Be Resolved: It Should Be Included in the Pakistan-India Negotiations Agenda - Khawaja Asif
Pakistan is ready to discuss three key issues with India during negotiations, including the Kashmir issue, cross-border terrorism, and the joint use of Indus River waters. This was stated by Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif in an interview with Geo News.
“We have three main issues with India: Kashmir, terrorism, and water. These have existed for the past 76 years. Pakistan is the biggest victim of terrorism, and this issue must be resolved, as well as the Kashmir issue, for which Pakistan and India have fought against each other three times. The issue of that territory must be included in the Pakistan-India negotiations agenda,” the minister said.
According to Asif, the dispute over the use of Indus River waters with India was settled when a relevant agreement was signed in 1960, and its validity cannot be suspended by New Delhi's unilateral decision. “The agreement reached on the ceasefire with India on May 10 was a diplomatic victory for us, which resulted from Pakistan's manifestation of restraint and military power in its conflict with that country,” added Khawaja Asif.
