Strong Winds Cause Significant Damage: 57 Emergency Incidents Recorded

On May 11, starting at 15:45, the National Crisis Management Center and regional crisis management centers received reports of damages caused by strong winds in various locations including Yerevan, Abovyan, Vanadzor, Dilijan, Ijevan, and the villages of Jamshlu in Aragatsotn Province, Aghavnadzor and Pyunik in Kotayk Province, and Mrgashtan in Armavir Province. Roof sheets, rain gutters, and trees were reported down, requiring the assistance of rescuers. This information was provided by the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Teams from the Fire and Rescue Departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Yerevan and regional rescue operations, including firefighting units, aerial platforms, and operational groups from the Special Rescue Operations Center, were dispatched to the affected areas.

Rescuers carried out tasks including securing the areas, dismantling roofs (particularly on Heratsy street in Yerevan), reinforcing rain and smoke pipes, and cutting and removing fallen trees.

A total of 57 emergency incidents were registered due to the strong winds: 44 in Yerevan, 1 in Armavir Province, 2 in Aragatsotn Province, 4 in Lori Province, 2 in Tavush Province, 3 in Kotayk Province, and 1 in Ararat Province. Rescuers responded to all calls, providing the necessary assistance.
