In the US, Drug Prices Will Sharply Decrease

President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he intends to reinstate a controversial policy from his first term aimed at lowering drug prices by calculating payments for certain medications based on their prices in other countries.

On the Truth Social platform, Trump stated that he is prepared to sign an executive order which, according to him, will dramatically reduce the cost of drugs. “I will sign one of the most important executive orders in the history of our country. Prices for prescription drugs and pharmaceutical products will almost immediately decrease by 30-80 percent,” he wrote, adding that with this measure, the US will pay the same amount for drugs as the country with the lowest prices in the world.
