Additionally, the conclave, during which the new Pope of Rome was elected, began on May 7. In the first attempt, the cardinals were unable to come to a decision on the election, as a candidate for the position of Pope must receive two-thirds of the votes. He then confirms his acceptance of the papal chair and chooses a papal name.

According to the broadcaster's data, six main candidates were considered for the position of the Pope of Rome. They represent the United States, Italy, Sri Lanka, and countries from Africa.

It is noteworthy that on May 8, white smoke emerged from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican, signaling the election of the new Pope of Rome.
