Mass Flight Delays and Cancellations in Russia
On the night of May 7, several airports in Russia and Kazan experienced temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft. Rosaviatsiya noted that these restrictions were implemented to ensure flight safety.
During the same night, 12 flights of Ural Airlines were redirected to alternative airports, and an additional 17 flights were delayed. NordStar reported changes to the schedules of 6 flights, while Nordwind announced delays for 4 flights arriving at and departing from Kazan.
Reciprocal flights were mainly redirected to Pulkovo Airport in Saint Petersburg. Rosaviatsiya indicated that efforts are currently underway to return the aircraft to their designated airports, although some aircraft are still awaiting takeoff.
